MARIE KRNAKOVA - MW PERFUMES U.K. WWW.MWPERFUMES.COM

MARIE KRNAKOVA, UNITED KINGDOM - MWPERFUMES

Marie was our first student to the 24 months online course program. She always thought it would be impossible to become a perfumer without the formal chemistry degree, A model student, she dedicated regular weekly time to her study and followed thoroughly the tutor's guidance. She qualified with the Perfumery Art School in June 2015. Here is what she has to say about her study with us:

'You have been a great inspiration to me, from a wonderful teacher to a good friend, without you I would never be able to do and be where I am now. You have made my dream come true; you have been patiently guiding me through difficult moments, advising me on next steps in order to achieve my goals. I do not think words can even express how much I am grateful for all your help over the past few years. Without you, MW Perfumes would never exist...

I believe it is important to strengthen the message about beauty of natural perfumes whenever possible. I am strictly following your wisdom and only work with natural ingredients as perfumes made from purely natural ingredients are so beautiful. One of my friend told me that my perfumes remind her of Chanel perfumes, but the old ones. That brought a smile to my face as the old/vintage perfumes were using naturals as their core ingredients. It is beautiful to hear that people can still appreciate quality and natural ingredients in products.''

MARIE-GABRIELLE PASTRÉ, FRANCE - LES PARFUMEURS AMATEURS

Marie-Gabrielle completed her study at the Perfumery Art School in 2015. She joined because she wanted to work only with naturals. In 2014, she established her training company, Les Parfumeurs Amateurs in order to educate people about the Tradition of the Art of perfumery... in France, after realising that tradition had disappeared a long time ago although France is the country of birth of modern perfumery... She runs weekends and year-long workshops in the region of Lyon and also visits retirement homes where she dedicates her time to use scents as a way to give old age pensioners a sense of belonging, particularly to those people suffering from Alzheimer's.

UMESH AMIN, UNITED KINGDOM - SCENTIMENTAL LTD

Umesh joined the online course program as he wanted to understand fully what is behind perfumery. This knowledge allowed him to land, early 2015, the position of Managing Director of Scentimental Ltd, a major distributor of exclusive and niche perfumes in the UK, established since 1997 by Alan Taylor, ex-international director of Givenchy. The range of perfumes they represent exclusively is impressive including Nobile, Rancé, Ineke, Bal à Versailles, Le Galion, Mitchell & Peach. Here is what Umesh has to say about his study with the Perfumery Art School:

'I wanted to say thanks as the course has really inspired me to form a business in the industry. I was drawn to a greater understanding of how perfumes are made. This not only led me to the course but to now a love of fragrances that are atisan, avant-garde and just that bit special which I am now distributing in the UK. I am actually meeting Thierry Laur from Molinard parfums this morning and then off to Selfridges' headoffice for a meeting. Who would have believed it!''
ALEXANDRA BACHAND, CANADA - ALEXANDRA BACHAND

A fine Art student, Alexandra was seeking to complete her already expanded knowledge of perfumery, acquired by studying with a French master perfumer and turned to the Perfumery Art School to delve into the principles of traditional perfumery using naturals. From her Grange du Parfumeur (perfumer's barn) in Quebec, she promotes beautiful and elegant perfumes, inspired by her native French culture.  She ended the year 2015 in style by creating a commissioned perfume called SFUMATO.

More recently, she has created 10 perfumes and poems on the occasion of a Canadian perfume exhibition ''Warflowers''commemorating the first World War through stories of Canadian soldiers and their families. The exhibition launched in Toronto before continuing in Vimy, France in May 2018. She has also been appointed Canadian distributor of the eponymous magazine, Nez la revue olfactive. Alexandra is fast becoming the shining star of artisanal perfumery in Canada.

AUDE ASKLOV, SWEDEN - ASKLÖV

Aude qualified with us in August 2016 but she did not wait to receive her certificate to start her own brand of perfumes and candles, Asklov. In less than 1 year and after applying thoroughly each lesson she was taught, Aude has succeeded to have her products (perfumes and candles) distributed at Roullier-White, one of the biggest retailers of exclusive perfumes in London and has already expanded her presence in France. Aude also works as a Perfume expert at NK Beauty space with Nordiska Kompaniet in Stockholm, advising clients on finding the most suitable perfumes.

Combining her love for textile, colours and smells, Aude has launched a collection based on the purity and clean scents of Scandinavia which is reflected through her elegant and simple packaging.

''When I enrolled for the 24 months course at the Perfumery Art School I had just finished a Swedish certificate  in Fashion design. I found the same embodying satisfaction in the creative process of making perfume from the raw idea to the final olfactive creation. Isabelle and her pool of talented collaborators introduced me to the olfactive tools and mathematic skills to be able to translate a vision into a fragrance.

Months of dedication to the smelling exercises to build bridges between an odour and a memory of a place or a name, discipline to store the odours into the long-term memory, time and yogic dedication is necessary for the learning process to achieve its route. Isabelle has always been along my path to answer my questions and reassure me when in doubt, she is a rare talented mentor who sees in all her selected student the great possibilities they have deep inside them. Can you imagine the greatness of creating a perfume! The process is an exploration of yourself and the result an olfactive artistic achievement.

The Perfumery Art School is the only one in its kind to offer you the possibility to work free lance and create your own brand. A beautiful journey into the olfactory world. Enjoy.''
RALUCA VASILE, ROMANIA - YOUR PERSONAL AROMA

Raluca is a branding specialist, holding an MBA. She has completed her Certificate in Perfumery Art with us and already launched Your Personal Aroma,  her successful perfumery concept company in her home country of Romania where she has become a renowned and first home-grown perfumer, tackling this fascinating market of 22 million people and selling an already impressive collection of fragrances and scented products.

She received rave reviews from various magazines and is becoming a popular face to promote natural perfumes on Romanian TV.

In 2018, Raluca created a limited edition called ''Fleurs de Roumanie'' on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Grand Union.

MIRIAM YOUNG, AUSTRALIA - THEORIA GOLD

Miriam used and applied thoroughly the full 24 months allocated to the online perfumery Art program to create a line of pure alcohol-free perfume extracts, totally in line with the French tradition. A medical herbalist, Miriam took time to develop her first 2 perfumes which have already been received with success among her clients.
Here is what Miriam has to say about her learning with us:

''I am a Medical Herbalist and chose to undertake my perfumery education at The Perfumery Art School with Isabelle Gellé, and have now completed the course.

This education of Art in scent was very in depth and hard work, yet Isabelle’s support and encouragement was limitless.  I loved working through the modules, discovering new oils and creating new combinations and scents.  I found the history module fascinating, truly inspirational and in my creations have likened the art of perfumery to music and colour as I progressed.  Perfumery is no easy path to follow and hugely frustrating at times, yet Isabelle was forever patient with me and through her kind words of understanding and encouragement have now created my first two Parfums, which I absolutely adore, as do my customers!
Thank you so much Isabelle from the bottom of my heart, you are a truly gifted perfumer and teacher and I hope to be training with you again soon in some advanced workshops.  Miriam Young, www.theoriagold.com''

<<Perfumery is the ultimate spiritual journey. You have to be daring. You have to break the rules. Yet you have to be moderate, consistent. Perfumery tests the depths of your creativity. And brings you to your knees with the patience that is required. Intuition, listening is everything. And each day brings a new challenge >>
