The Diploma in Art of perfumery

The aim of the course is to empower students with sufficient knowledge so as to be able to create their own fragrances, using traditional perfume-making methods from the HOUSE OF GRASSE while being able to apply the Art of Perfumery in a more modern context.

This is a unique course that is different from any perfumery course you might come across as it focuses on the ART of perfumery and not on the Chemistry of it. This Diploma course is certified by CPD UK which makes it ideal for people who are aiming to become professional perfumers in any capacity ranging from setting up their own perfumery business, formulating perfumes and functional products for private or corporate clients, regulatory affairs in the context of the perfumery, cosmetics and personal care industry, delivering educational workshops to clients whether individual or corporate, joining a perfume manufacturing or retailing company, marketing or selling perfumes and scented functional products, copywriting and editing documents or articles in magazines or blogs.

The methodology we use is based on our unique S.C.E.N.T.© approach:

-Smell: Discover the main raw materials, their structure and get acquainted to your sense of smell; learn to build up accords and to harmonise notes
-Create: Learn the architecture of a perfume and the traditional methods used to create fragrances and use your knowledge in other applications
-Explore: Explore the history of perfumery throughout times and the geographical areas for the most precious botanicals;
-Nurture: Differentiate health & safety requirements in perfume-making and learn to respect and protect the environment; get acquainted to animal ingredients that are not harmful to the animals
-Translate: Next steps towards becoming a professional perfumer
